Senior Classes

For students aged 12-18

Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays 4.30 - 5.30

€60 per month

As well as learning musical theatre skills, Seniors take part in our two major annual productions: our WinterMix concerts (usually held during January) and our summer musical (usually held during July and August).

All productions involve additional rehearsals on the stage and all students are expected to attend all of these additional rehearsals.  Most students love the atmosphere created around an LYT performance!

During February, all students are given the opportunity to audition for principal roles in the summer production.  LYT holds individual auditions.  From these auditions, the principal characters in our summer show are cast.  The principals will need to be available to rehearse and perform with all three groups and are expected to help with off-stage work.  This is a huge commitment of time and energy and should parents or students not wish to take on this extra workload, please let us know as soon as possible.

As with all our classes, the safety and enjoyment of our students is paramount.  Many of our past parents and students describe the life skills that they have learnt through Loughrea Youth Theatre.  It is more than learning performing arts it is about learning how to interact successfully with those around you.

Sadly we must say goodbye to our Senior students once they commence their Leaving Certificate year at school.
